1949 Spartan Mobile Office
Project Details
Behind the polished aluminum skin and red Spartanette emblem of this 1949 Spartan trailer, Avant-Garde Design built a modern mobile office finished in charcoal, warm gray and deep red. The curved walls are wrapped in a textured gray linen-look fabric with framed window surrounds, a banded ceiling and a pair of rounded rear portholes. Across the back, a curved lounge pairs red leather backrests and wrapped arms with gray seat cushions over a dark striped wood base, while a long gray leather bench runs along one side. Up front, a red leather dinette booth faces a pedestal table, and matching cabinetry with a stone-look counter and stacked drawers fills the opposite corner.
Every seat base and cabinet is cut away at the floor and lit with LED strips that wash the tweed-style carpet, itself wrapped into the curved toe kicks. Opposite the lounge, a wood-grain media wall frames a Sony display between two sculpted, suede-covered speaker pods above a long counter with built-in outlets. A wall-mounted Control4 touchscreen manages lighting, audio and video, while recessed ceiling lights and glowing window sills add depth. Behind a cabinet door, an electronics bay carries an illuminated Spartanette emblem in red and orange above a clear access panel. Slim matte drawer pulls, radiused solid-surface counters and the original riveted aluminum hatch beside the entry door tie the new work to the trailer's history.
